A Roman Idea

Original Painting by Mihaela Gimlin

This piece was inspired by a strong impression that I had while visiting the Roman Forum in Rome. It was hard to fathom that such a mighty empire could be reduced to such ruins. In black and white surrealism I attempt to portray the idea that while the empire is long gone the idea still lives on.
